Texas Holdem can be a hard game to learn, but if you study hard enough and learn the game, it can be a game of great strategy and skill. The hand rankings for Texas Hold'em can be pretty easy to learn, make sure that these hand rankings are memorized before you play in a game. The first two cards you get in a hand are crucial, you can always bluff but that doesn't always work either. Knowing what cards give you better odds at winning is key. The pre flop Texas Hold'em hand rankings are as follows:

It is essential that you know these and keep them fresh in your mind if you plan to win any money playing. No matter where you go these are the hand rankings. Some things could change depending on the position at the table but other than that one exception all of the hand rankings will always stay the same. When you know the hand ranking combinations you have the edge over some of the other players at your table because chances are they don't know them like they should and they are just playing like they would normal poker. You can't win at Texas Holdem if you are playing like you would a normal hand of five card poker. This is a thinking game and you have to always be on your toes and paying attention to what is going on around you if you plan to be successful in this game.
